Bears Ears

If you go to Owachomo Bridge in Natural Bridges N.M., Utah, and you climb the west wall of Armstrong Canyon (there is no trail), you’ll find yourself atop the Grand Gulch Plateau. There isn’t much on the plateau itself, just pinon pine, juniper and sagebrush. However, if you love hiking the high desert, the views are worth the climb. The two distant buttes framed between the branches of this old juniper tree are the “Bears Ears”.
