Liquid RedPosted by Jamie Ann (Lakewood, United States) on 3 November 2006 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. I spent the first week of October kayaking the Colorado River from Moab to the Confluence. The fact that it relentlessly rained every night or that the Colorado River flooded, rising 19 feet from the extremely heavy runoff is not remarkable. What is remarkable is the silkiness of the mud just below the waters surface, and as the river snaked and twisted under the arching sun, the way the light danced on the ever-changing river in pallets of rusts turning too brilliant reds and fading into oranges. I took this picture inside “The Loop”.
